Ignore my previous review - I'm a fool. The ube bouncy cheesecake is absolutely perfect and it is no longer a concern of mine that you can only order a whole one. As it turns out, I can eat that entire thing within a day. Older, wiser, etc. I had Rikuro's in Osaka a few months ago and the cheesecake here is a little denser, but just as delicious. Need to return for cream puffs! I tried the ones at their other location years ago but it's time for a refresher.

Keki Modern Cakes is a delightful pastry shop located in NYC's Chinatown, specializing in Japanese baked goods like cheesecakes. The staff is friendly and efficient, constantly working to prepare fresh cakes. We were able to see the process through the window, which added a nice touch to the experience. They were quick to package our order and kept us informed about any delays or unavailable items. We tried the Castella cake, and it was fantastic. Light and fluffy, with a generous portion for the price. Even after a few days, the cake maintained its airy texture, making it ideal for taking on the go. It wasn't overly sweet, which allowed the subtle flavor to shine through--almost like biting into air due to its delicate consistency. Overall, Keki Modern Cakes is a wonderful place to visit if you're in the Chinatown area, especially if you're a fan of light, delicious, and beautifully made baked goods.

This was the first place I had bouncy cake - back in the day when you really had to get there early because they would run out every day! Light, fluffy and I'm sure there are no calories cause I can eat a whole cake myself ; Try the ube, not only is it a great purple color but the subtle nuttiness comes through perfectly. I do wish they served slices just so I could try all the flavors but alas, that's not their business model.

Always come here for their cream puffs and decided to try out their famous cheesecake. Overall really nice and definitely a goto dessert spot in Chinatown!

The cheesecakes here are famous for their light, bouncy texture and delightful jiggle. They strike the perfect balance--soft, fluffy, and just lightly sweetened, with a moist interior that melts in your mouth. I really enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to trying more flavors next time!

Keki cakes are soo good and comes in the perfect size. I love that they're mini and perfect for birthdays or just to share with friends/family. The original is a classic flavor so be sure to check it out!

I was hungry and got a pistachio cream puff at $4 for each one wrapped in a plastic bag. The pistachio crusted topping is very tasty and crunchy when you bite it. The pistachio cream is very creamy and I thought it was a lot of cream sitting inside the puff. The cream was a bit sweet and just right but I think it was too much cream. I could t finish the cream but ate mostly the pistachio nuts sitting outside of the puff. They also had other flavors like taro and original, which I will try another time when I pass by.

(Overall: A) - I decided to grab a quick treat from Keki's Modern Cakes from Chinatown and opted for a trio of cream puffs. If I recall correctly, I likely got pistachio, cookies and cream, and ube -- the best part is that the flavors are physically present and not subdued. The shell is a crispy exterior kind of like a pineapple bun. Overall, I found these elevated cream puffs to be packaged well, presented nicely, and tasty!
